Board members in attendance; Debbie Dutton, Cathy Yaskivich, Janniece
MacDonald, Kathryn Grossman and Carole Hackett. Missing were Merlene
Sutalo and Patty White.
Meeting was called to order by Debbie.
Minutes were approved as written.
Treasurer’s Report: $12,656.31 with all bills paid. There are still some
outstanding bills due from the show. Invoices have been sent. Ed Houston
will now be on a cash/cashiers check/money order basis.
Old
Business:
Parade
– We have been accepted into the Rose Parade. Entrants need to sign some
forms and pay $50 each. The Placentia Parade will be held at the same
time as the Nationals so we will not attend this parade. Kathryn will
check with Danell regarding flyers and ticket sales for the donated
saddle. Debbie will talk to Joy about selling tickets at the Nationals.
We need a photo of the saddle to put in the premium. A “thank you”
letter needs to be sent to Alberto Llumas.
Burbank Show – The airline ticket for Risso is arranged and Thorndike is
working on his ticket. Short biographs have been requested from both
judges. Annette has volunteered to host an open house/happy hour Friday
evening and we can donate up to $200 if needed. She also would like to
give a clinic sometime. Debbie will discuss details with Merlene. We
still do not have coupons for the Peruvian restaurant to put in the
premium so we need to check on this with Richard Ubillus. Cathy and
Merlene need to write a letter to NAPHA about needing more judges. We
decided to offer a free class to the person/ranch with the best stall
decorations.
Directory – Done and mailed.
November Minutes – Cathy just received and will have Debbie Pye post.

Items – Janniece supplied an inventory synopsis which was discussed. She
has ordered 14 jackets.
New
Business:
Peruvian Consulate – We would like the Peruvian Consulate to come to the
show. Merlene and Cathy can work on this.
Election Meeting – Decided to have the meeting at Rancho Vista del Sol –
Cathy’s.
Equine
Affaire – Prices are down and there are building changes. Due to the
economy, the only way we can participate is if we can get some
donations. Carole will phone members for their opinions and ask for
sponsors/donations. Also need to check with Los Amigos.
NAPHA
– NAPHA has asked us for $250 to be donated towards the reception at the
Nationals. We need to decline at this time due to the Club being
affected by the economy.
Meetings – All agreed to change our Board meetings to the first
Wednesday of the month starting in September.
The
meeting was adjourned at 8:45pm.
