Board Meeting Minutes
June 2, 2009
Marie Calendars,Temecula, Ca.
6:30pm
Meeting was brought to order by Debbie.
7 Board members in attendance; Debbie Dutton,
Merlene Sutalo, Cathy Yaskivich, Janniece MacDonald, Kathryn Grossman,
Carole Hackett & Patty White.
Treasurer’s Report; N/A
Minutes were accepted as written.
Old Business;
Parade – Danell is working on the poster for the
raffle of the saddle and the drawing tickets are being prepared.
2010 Spring Show – Confirmed for fairplex, Pomona.
Dates April 3rd & 4th, 2010. We must have an EMT
on the premises during the show. An estimate charge is $19.50 per hour.
Fairplex also raised the stall fees an additional $15.
Ventura Show – Connie should be able to be the
interpreter for Mariano Cabrera’s judge meeting. Charlie Brooks will be
ring steward as Georgia is unavailable.
Burbank Show – John MacDonald is working with Risso
on the purchase of his airline ticket. Thorndike is getting his own
ticket and we will reimburse him. Arlynda Castro will be show secretary.
Cathy will send a contract. She will be paid $525 ( $175 per day), $75
for food, gas with a $150 cap, all paper supplies and toner, and 5
nights at the hotel.
Directory – We will prepare this after the Ventura
show.
Welcome Letter – These were mailed to the Novices
with stamped, self-addressed envelopes. We had 3 returned out of 11
mailed and noted comments and responses.
November Minutes – These are not on the web-site.
Cathy does not have a copy yet. Kathryn will type a copy and forward
them to her.
New Business;
Banner Sponsorship – We decided to offer a “banner”
sponsorship which would cost $100 a year with the owner supplying the
banner. This will start at the Burbank show and anyone paying at this
time will be paid through 2010. Galveston, who has been donating
blankets as awards this year, will be given a free banner sponsorship.
Business sponsors can upgrade. Carole and Patty will help with the
hanging of the banners.
Regular Sponsorships – All agreed to increase the
fees by $5 each.
NAPHA – Having an issue with the judging pool being
too small. We would like to have NAPHA give full points when using
judges on the “B” list. Merlene and Cathy will work on a letter to NAPHA
regarding this issue.
No funds are in the NAPHA foundation for parade
groups so we are unable to get a donation from them.
Jackie Garayar – Would like to set up something to
collect donations towards the Garayar family. Carole will discuss the
issue with Charotte Dicke as her father is an attorney to see how we can
handle this legally.
