SCPPHC Board Meeting Minutes
November 7,2007
Mexican Chiquita,Temecula,Ca.
7pm.
6 Board
members in attendance: Tammy Rimes, Bonnie Gallegos, Cathy Yaskivich,
Debbie Dutton, Kathryn Grossman, Tracy McGraw, & Merlene Sutalo.
Meeting was
called to order by Tammy.
Minutes were
accepted as written.
Treasurer’s
Report: $33,691.60. We still have bills to pay from the show. We have
received the refund from Seaside Park in Ventura. Refunds still need to be
paid to those unable to attend due to the fire and there is an outstanding
bill owed by Figuerola for approximately $1475.00. Debbie will have a
detailed report next meeting.
Old Business:
Debbie took over as show manager as Tammy was unable to attend the show
due to the fire.We had 125 horses and the feedback we received was very
positive. Debbie will discuss with Karen Poindexter various issues:
pigeons being captured on the barns and left struggling for sometimes more
than 24hrs.,the security person was not good, trash not empties unless
requested, general bad maintenance and the concession stand food was not
good. Misc. items were purchased for the show ( cooler, 4 cones). We were
able to set up the trail class with some items Fairplex had and Cathy
brought her cones for use as Tammy had the trail course props and Club
cones. We had a problem where the sponsors were not announced so we
decided to post the class sponsors on the web-site and in the newsletter.
Jody Childs did not supply the High Point Novice award so we gave Club
items. Danell Adams, the High Point Novice was not happy with what was
given so Jody has offered to pay for whatever Danell would like. She has
decided on a plaque so Kathryn will place an order and contact Jody.The
NAPH Show Report forms will be filled out by Debbie. Kathryn will order
various awards that were needed. We decided that in the future, we will
have special plaques for the Sandy Blankenship(Grand) and Vivienne
Lundquist(Spring) Awards. There is an error on an El Merito plaque
received by Maidy Dreyfuss so Cathy will get this fixed. Tammy said she
heard that someone may file a protest regarding the violation of a rule.
We discussed
having a double show again next October and still having the Spring and
Pacific Coast Shows. This was approved and we decided to call the October
show the Fall Classic and Grand Championship Show. A Peruvian and
American judge will be used.
Election
Meeting – The Board is to arrive before 10:30am, preferably by 10am. The
counting of the ballots will be dome by Tammy, Bonnie & Tracy. Tammy will
bring all the Club items she has and turn them over to Debbie.
New Business;
Danell Adams
has asked for insurance for 2 parades in 2008. We approved the Laguna
Parage in March. She will need to submit a parade plan.
Judges – We
discussed judges for 2008 and decided on Hugh Richardson for April if he
is available. We discussed Joe Chandler for October and Bonnie will check
with him to see what Peruvian judge he would work well with – Enrique Rizo-Patron
is the one we would like to use if available.
