SCPPHC Board Meeting Minutes
October 7, 2009
Marie Calendar’s, Temecula,
Ca.
5 Board members in
attendance; Debbie Dutton, Cathy Yaskivich, Janniece MacDonald, Kathryn
Grossman and Carole Hackett. Missing were Merlene Sutalo and Patty
White. Also in attendance was Danell Adams.
Meeting was called to order
by Debbie.
Minutes were accepted as
written.
Treasurer’s Report -
$6849.48. A deposit of $400 has been paid to Lake Norconian Conference
Center for the banquet to be held Jan. 16, 2010. The airline tickets for
Risso and Thorndike have been paid. We reported non-payment of Ed
Houston’s outstanding bill to NAPHA.
Old Business;
Parade – Danell gave a
report. May do a Christmas parade. There will be a practice in Nov. for
Equifest. A silent auction of donated horse items will be held at the
Burbank show. Thank you letters will be sent to those donating items. We
will limit stallion service auctions to 2 stallions. So far there has
been about $1000 worth of tickets sold so far for the raffle saddle.
Tickets for Equifest are $12 and hopefully members will be there to
support us. The display and silent auction items will be outside the
show office. Hopefully enough will be raised to reimburse most of the
Club and riders expenses.
Burbank Show - Kathryn will
set up gift bags with various items for the costume class awards plus
ribbons. A mug will also be given for 1st place. Janniece
will check into a shuttle for Thorndike as he is arriving very early on
Thursday morning. Janniece will pick Risso up at the airport on Thursday
afternoon. Debbie is checking into RV spaces on the grass near the barns
and wash rack area.
Banner Sponsorships – Carole
has 18-20 sponsorships committed. We need to figure out how to hang the
banners on the arena wall. Debbie will consult with Joann Asman.
Election Meeting -
Nominations have been sent out and are returning. The ballots with
flyers on the meeting will go out next week. May need to get a
“porto-potty” for the meeting.
Equine Affaire – Charlotte
has been busy so more info. Next month.
New Business;
RAC Meeting- Tuesday Oct. 20th.
Cathy will participate.
Daryl Thompson – He has been
talking to Channel 5 and Ted Chin from NBC.
Judges 2010 – All agreed on Nick Breaux
for Spring Classic and Lionel Peralta for the Fall Classic if they
passes their judging tests being taken at the Nationals. Roque Benevides
has accepted judging the Grand Championship. The Burbank shows are
confirmed for Nov. 5-7, 2010. Debbie will contact Rolando Garcia
Bertoncini to see if he is available for the Pacific Coast Show. We
decided to now state in our judging contracts that the Club will
pay for “economy” only on airfares. Any upgrades must be paid at their
own expense.
