SCPPHC Board Meeting Minutes

6 Board members in
attendance; Debbie Dutton, Merlene Sutalo, Cathy Yaskivich, Kathryn
Grossman, Carole Hackett & Patty White. Missing was Janniece MacDonald.
Meeting was called to order
by Debbie.
Minutes were accepted as
written.
Treasurer’s Report -
$11,000.00 ( aprox.). Premium printing and postage paid. Ed Houston
still has not paid his June show bill so we will report this to NAPHA.
OLD BUSINESS:
Parade – We need to get an
accounting on ticket sales so Patty will contact Danell. We will put
flyers in the show packets and push ticket sales at the show.
Burbank Show – Cathy has
sent e-mails to Thorndike regarding his airline reservations. For the
“social” at Annette Kart’s, Annette will supply “sangria” and Patty
will handle the snacks which should cost around $250 figuring there
will be about 100 people. Cathy will call Arlynda regarding the show
secretary contract she sent her. We decided to give regular awards and
jack-o-lanterns with candy and gifts for the costume class. Carole has
quite a few people committed to banner sponsorships. We discussed the
hanging of the banners and will figure this out on an individual basis.
Election – The election
meeting will be Nov. 14th at Cathy’s. Annette Kart will do a
clinic on Gait. We will pay for her gas. The date of the meeting will be
added to the nomination form. Any memberships coming in during the 90
day period before the election will be given memberships through 2010 so
they can vote in 2010 for the 2011 Board.
Presentation Class -
Merlene suggested we offer a presentation class for those wanting to
present horses with laureados or special awards. This would not be a
judged class but a place to show off their horses. The owners would do a
write up on their horses. We decided this could be done in 2010 at the
Burbank show and details will be discussed at a later date.
Equine Affaire – The booth
will be shared with Los Amigos and the Central Coast Clubs. We do not
feel that people should pay to put out flyers, business cards and info.
Looking for donations.
NEW BUSINESS;
Kathryn ordered a new plaque
for Danell Adams and another award for the tie on the Stuart Hamblen
Award from the Pacific Coast Show. The photo for Cheryl Calentine has
not come in yet.
RAC Meeting – Cathy gave a
short report of the meeting. Lynn Kinsky requested clubs promote the Joy
of Riding in their newsletters. The Carousel Show in Arizona will start
offering Peruvian classes again in March 2010.
Carole suggested we give
Galveston Equine a business/banner sponsorship for her donated blankets.
Approved.
Insurance – Yearly policy
due. Discussed activities and number of days to be included.
Newsletter – Patty is doing
this but needs someone else to handle it.

8:30pm.
